ROBUST - The Module
The Yakka150 is not only tough in looks; it is also rugged in construction and resilient to harsh applications and handling. Sykes Yakka150 is a result of unique assembly in which the module is assembled from a main chassis and a removable outer enclosure. The spill bath, engine, fuel tank and pumpset are all mounted to the chassis and are independent of the outer structural enclosure which can be easily removed for the repair and maintenance of internal and/or external components.
The main framework is constructed from large diameter steel tubing and the body and door panels are manufactured using the rotational moulding process. The panels benefit from being moulded directly from a colour compounded base material that will minimise visual surface scratches. They are also chemical resistant and offer high levels of heat and UV resistance. The panels are foam filled, providing structural integrity and impact resistance, whilst insulating against heat and sound.
The Yakka 150 incorporates environmental considerations such as noise reduction, good flow through ventilation and a spill bath, which is incorporated into the unit to reduce environmental damage from potential fuel and oil leaks.
The Yakka150 was designed with safety in mind with all mechanics and operational equipment being located within the module. The gull wing doors and low internal sides give unparalleled access to the engine, pump set and control systems. The open doors also protect the operator during adverse weather conditions.
